Connecting a community – Opawa Public Library, Christchurch

We’re excited to see the progress being made on the new Opawa Public Library.

Envivo has been appointed by Watts & Hughes to undertake the setout and certification of the new Volunteer Opawa Library, in Christchurch. The new building will house books for all ages and will also include a public meeting space, creating a local community hub.

The Opawa Public Library left its 81-year-old building on the corner of Opawa Road and Richardson Terrace, after it was damaged in the 2010 earthquakes.  The new building’s floor area will be 207 square metres.  This exciting regeneration project is due to be completed in March 2020.
