Laser scanning Tāne Mahuta

Envivo surveyor Nathan Cossar, assisted AUT’s 2019 Artist in Residence Joseph Michael to create the first ever life-sized digital reconstruction of Tāne Mahuta. Tāne Mahuta is New Zealand’s largest known living kauri tree located in Northland’s Waipoua Forest. Nathan used point cloud scan data imagery to capture Tāne Mahuta.
