New H&M Store Clad in Stone

Envivo’s Structural Engineers have been working hard on the new Commercial Bay Precinct development.

The Commercial Bay Project is currently the largest construction project in Auckland. The project will deliver a variety of retail, commercial and public space along with public transport upgrades (CRL).

Envivo were engaged by SCE Stone & Design to provide structural solutions for the fixing of the stone façades to the main building. The fixing system consists of a propriety system, design verified by our engineers, with fixings into the building substructure designed by others.

The stone façade was designed to withstand wind and seismic loads applied to it, rendering it safe for the public. The Customs Street façade consists of a series of panels and fins weighing approximately 48 tonnes. The layout of the façade has fins at specific locations to provide an appealing look when viewed from the street level as can be seen in this picture of the new H&M Store.
