Envivo surveyors have the capacity to work on large scale projects and are proud of our timeliness, communication and deliverables. A recent example is the Otara floor levels survey project for Auckland Council which commenced in March and was completed on-time and on-budget in June. This was no small undertaking as it was running concurrently with other large infrastructure projects and this project alone needed:
- Staffing:
- Four field teams of over 12 specially trained staff
- Three office staff for support and data processing
- One Project Manager
- Equipment
- Latest GIS software integrated with survey-grade GPS technology
- Harnessing field-to -office processes and online platforms to ensure data integrity and security
- Extent
- 39 km2 of survey area covered
- Time
- 10 weeks; timely and regular delivery
- Results
- 3100 buildings surveyed; 3500 floor levels captured
- Over 100,000 attribute information collected, including quality photographs
- Over 14,000 accurate XYZ coordinates provided
Communication was a key factor in this project as we needed to notify all home owners and occupants that surveyors would be working in the area. We distributed a letter in three languages and provided a friendly and dedicated liaison co-ordinator within Envivo to answer questions, organise field teams and scheduling.
Tom Bretherton, Managing Director, said “This is an excellent example of large scale project management to meet Auckland Council’s needs…we delivered the detail that Council wanted, in the required format on time and on budget. Since completing this project, we have also undertaken similar work in Te Atatu, New Lynn and numerous south Auckland areas. The success of any project is attributable to the excellent co-ordination, communication and positive attitudes of the teams involved. Well done to everyone involved.”
